History
Established in August 2007, Energy Max Ltd. is based on the longstanding experience of DSc Totyo Totev in the field of power engineering. At first, the company started operating with only two employees in the scope of power engineering tests and combustion processes commissioning.
In 2009, the testing laboratory Energy Lab at Energy Max Ltd. is created. Two years later in March 2011, the laboratory received its first accreditation certificate from the National Executive Agency “Bulgarian Accreditation Service”, according to EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard with a scope: “Testing of: anthracites, hard and brown coals, lignite coals, briquettes and coke. Limestone. Wastes, sludge and sediments. Waters: drinking, mineral, surface and groundwater, waste waters. Sampling of: Gas flows in ducts for stationary source emissions.” [Full scope here]
After the accreditation acquirement, Energy Max carried out efficiency tests for all Flue Gas Desulphurization Systems (FGDs), operated by the biggest thermal power plants in the Maritsa-east region (Maritsa East 2 TPP, ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 TPP, AES Galabovo TPP). Energy Lab became a reliable and dependable partner of most of the operating thermal power plants even outside the Maritsa-east region such as EVN Bulgaria and TPP Varna by providing quality assurance of continuous monitoring systems.
Drawing from the thermal power plant’s experience gained worldwide, Energy Max Ltd. became the first Bulgarian company that successfully integrated low NOx refurbishment for lignite-fired boilers type PK-38-4 at Maritsa East 2 TPP by implementing primary reduction measures.
Currently, as one of the pioneers in the field of combustion processes NOx reduction measures, our company, as part of a consortium, carries out the refurbishment of boilers type P-62 (670/140) at Maritsa East 2 TPP.
In the beginning of 2020, after efficiency tests and positive ecological effect proving, the refurbishment of boiler No 12 was successfully completed.
